class description
Description: Screenprinting is a versatile process utilized by artists and designers printing on a range of material surfaces. In this three session workshop, participants will learn the key concepts and techniques for successful screenprinting, including film preparation, coating and shooting screens, mixing ink, and printing multiple screens with registration. All materials are provided. No prior printmaking experience is required. Current MGC members receive a 25% discount toward registration. Non-members receive nine additional studio hours outside of class time. Instructor Bio: Erika Sequeira (Saki), comes from a creative writing and photography background. Observing the correlations between darkroom processing and silkscreen printing, she decided to pursue a career in printmaking. Thanks to the fine folks at Espo’s Art World (formerly), she became a professional printmaker, working on fine art editions and limited garment releases. She sees printmaking as an accessible extension of one’s art practice and enjoys collaborating with artists to make their fine art editions come true. She now works at Powerhouse Arts in pursuit of becoming a Master Printmaker.
